Our talented pupils…
A big thank you to pupils that have shared their hobbies with us this week. Hollie Leigh and her cub uniform, Jamie Scrivin and his new orange Karate belt and Lily Clarkson who showed us her football medal! You are such a talented bunch.
Thank you to our talented Year 5 and Year 6 pupils who have brought in some wonderful homework, including mountain art work, cakes (following their own recipes) and even strawberry milkshake (thank you Jess!).
Star of the Week Winners 22.9.17
A big well done to all our Star of the Week Winners this week! Well done Tom, Zac, Lexi, Eve, Frankie and all of Year 3.
Star of the Week Winners
Every week, on a Friday, a star worker of the week is chosen from every class. This could be in recognition of hard work, attitude, effort or good behaviour! We have a celebration assembly where they are rewarded with a certificate. It was tricky to choose this weeks winners as all pupils have worked so hard since returning to school. Here are this week’s superstars… Jenson (Y1), Ella (Y2), Caitlyn (Y3), Callum (Y4), Skye (Y5) and Nathan (Y6).
Welcome Back!
Welcome back to all our pupils! It has been a really happy and busy start to the new term and we are really excited about the year ahead. We are having our Meet the Teacher event this Monday (10th of September) beginning at 3.30pm, where there will be an introductory talk by Mrs Watt followed by the opportunity to speak to teachers and staff in their classrooms.
Running alongside this, I am busy updating the school website and my aim is to create new year group pages which contain key information about your child’s class so that you can access important information quickly. Each teacher will create a document to introduce their class-information about P.E days, learning, teaching staff and homework can be found on there and can be accessed by clicking on the ‘Our Learning’ tab and finding the relevant class. We hope to have these finished and online by the end of next week.
As always, if you have any further questions please ask.
Wishing everyone a happy academic year!

Lovely sporting news!
Two brilliant pieces of sporting news for the website this week.
Our fabulous Y5/6 netball team (with the help of their fantastic coach-Miss Hunter) won all 5 games that they played at a recent competition at Dene House. They are through to the finals! We are so proud of all their hard work this year.
A big well done to Tilly Shippen for her achievements in dance-Tilly loves dancing and is really proud of how well she does in her classes and competitions. We are too Tilly!
If you would like to share with us any photos that make you proud, please tell Mrs Tateson. We could set up a page on our website to showcase them!
Return to school
Just a quick reminder that school reopens for pupils on Tuesday 6th June.
Monday 5th June is a training day for staff.
The final summer half term is always a busy one at school. We will endeavour to send you an updated reminder letter with key dates for trips, performances, report and parents evening etc, in the first week back.
Race for Life
A huge thank you to all our supporters of last weeks Race for Life.
We don’t have a final total raised yet but we should have it tallied after half term.
So far…donations online are past the £400 mark! Incredible. You can still donate online.
Thank you to each and everyone that have donated and turned out in the heat last Friday. I was so proud of the pupils and their families.
Enjoy looking at the photos from the day.
Childcare Provision 0-3
We are so proud of the excellent ‘Early Learners’ daycare team who provide fantastic daycare provision for babies and children up to 3 years old. We have included some extra information on our website. If you are interested in this service then please look under the section ‘Parents’ and ‘Childcare Provision’ to find out more.
World Book Day
World Book Day Reading Competition
In conjunction with the opening of our new librabry, on Friday, we launched our ‘Get Caught Reading’ competition! We are challenging all our pupils to ‘get caught reading’ and take a photograph of them doing so. We discussed with pupils some different ideas in yesterdays World Book Day assembly. If your child would like to enter a photo/photos first take the photo and then print it out for them to bring into school. If this is not possible, class teachers can help with the printing of photographs. The deadline for this competition is the last week of March. Winners will be revealed on the last day before the Easter break. We will send out a letter in due course explaining the competition.
Finally, thank you so much for all your support on World Book Day. Pupils looked fantastic in all their costumes and comfy pajamas and had a brilliant day of reading (as well as a story from a group of very big crayons!)
Some ideas for the competition are below. Have a lovely weekend everyone.
