Our first stars of the week for this year
Hello my name is Paris Dower (Y6) and every week I will be showing you who is the star of the week. We have star of the week every Friday. This is when our teachers choose pupils in their class who have completed outstanding work or showed amazing attitude, improvement or behaviour. Please enjoy looking at the pictures I take and reading about our fabulous pupils and their achievements. We will be starting from Friday 9th September 2016 until the end of the academic year.
Our shiny stars!
Back to school
Just a reminder that school will re-open for all pupils on Wednesday 7th of September at 8.50am.
We are looking forward to starting the new academic year. Information about our ‘Meet the Teacher’ Meeting will be given this week.
Please ensure that all uniform (including P.E kit) is labelled with pupils name. This helps enormously during the term.
Hope you have all had a wonderful summer!

Thornley girls win partnership netball tournament!
We have had a very successful sporting year at Thornley Primary School with achievements in football, cricket, athletics and even mountain biking!
Yesterday afternoon it was the turn of the young ladies from KS2 to earn recognition for their achievements in netball. They travelled to Dean House and played a series of winning games where they won by 4 goal to 0 in a match against Acre Rigg. The girls were presented with medals and took centre stage in assembly this morning.
Well done ladies. We are so proud of all your hard work at your weekly netball club and achievements at the tournament.
We would like to thank Miss Hunter, Mrs Reynolds and Simone Hammond for all their dedication to sport and their commitment to the team. All your hard work has clearly paid off!
