The long awaited production of ‘Bugsy Malone’ will be taking place next week in school. The children have all worked really hard to produce this and it will truly be a show not to be missed. Performances will take place on Wednesday 25th May 2016 at 1.30pm and Thursday 26th May 2016 at 5.30pm.

Tickets cost £2.00 and will be available from tomorrow to buy at the school office, they can also be reserved via facebook if you leave your number of tickets needed in the comment box.

Congratulations to our team of Year 6 boys who took part in the basketball final at East Durham College last week (4.5.16). They took part in two games and beat both Acre Rigg and Westlea to be crowned the winners of the competition. The team were thrilled to be presented with medals and a beautiful shield.

They will now represent the partnership in the School Games Finals at Durham University on 8^th July.

We are very proud of their hard work and determination. Their behaviour out of school was exemplary and they were a credit to our school. Well done boys!

A very Happy Easter to all our staff, parents and pupils. Just a reminder that school breaks up tomorrow (24th April) and pupils will return to school Tuesday 12th April. Here are some photographs of some of the entries from our Easter Egg Competition. It was lovely to see so many parents in school over the last couple of days helping pupils to make their competition entries. Equally, it was also fabulous to see all the hard work that had gone into ‘eggy’ preparations at home. Thank you everyone!

A huge thank you to all the staff, pupils and parents (who provided costumes and visited our book fair) for taking part in the World Book Day celebrations. It was a very enjoyable day and the pupils looked fabulous in their character costumes. Here are some highlights…see if you can spot your child.

We are hoping to try and update the ‘Our Learning’ section of the school website as often as possible. A big thank you to Mrs Williams for taking and sharing some wonderful photographs of all the fabulous things that Year 3 and Year 4 have been learning in their recent Key Tasks. Please take a look in the ‘Our Learning’ section and select Year 3 or Year 4. Hopefully other classes will be updated in the near future.

Our March 2016 newsletter is ready for you to view below and in the ‘Newsletters’ section and we will update this as often as possible. As you might be aware, our super talented pupils have been rehearsing for their upcoming production of Bugsy Malone. I managed to have a sneaky peak last week during rehearsals and it looks fabulous! Can’t wait to see it…watch out for information about tickets on the school website or Facebook page.

One of my favourite parts was meeting our very own ‘Fat Sam’-with very convincing American accent and meeting some wonderful dancers who are making excellent headway with the following routine…

Congratulations to our superstar basketball players from Y6 who took part in an inter school basketball competition last week. Mrs Reynolds (our fabulous P.E Coordinator) said that as well as winning the competition, you were an absolute credit to the school showing exemplary behaviour. A special mention to Mackenzie Burnham and Ash Grant (for super shooting); she was extremely impressed by the way that you all worked together as a team looking for opportunities to pass and score! We hope to get some photos of you all with your silverware soon!
