Welcome to Sycamore Class!
“The sycamore tree was once a sapling. After showing determination, resilience and a positive attitude, it grew to be proud, happy and full of ambitions,” Sycamore class.
Hello to you all!
I am Mrs Simpson-May- the Year 6 teacher and Deputy Head Teacher at Thornley.
Year 6 is a great place to be! The year is busy, rewarding and one which creates many special memories and experiences before the class move on to their next adventures.
My favourite subjects in school are Maths and Religious Education. I love to read, swim and bake- one day I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I will end up on The Great British Bake Off to meet Paul Hollywood. I also love to listen to music (Bon Jovi, Take That and Sam Fender as just a few of my favourites) and when I can, I enjoy attending concerts. You will often find me outside walking with my family where my four-legged friend often leads the way.
Kindness is a quality which I really value and try to show this is everything I do. Manners and politeness are also really important to me. Throughout the year, I will be dedicated to do everything I can to help and support you all to succeed and be the best you can be!
Take care,
Mrs Simpson-May
