Today, we celebrated the official opening of our wonderful new library! We had a ribbon cutting ceremony and invited Charlie Ashcroft (and a Thornley superstar from each year group) to open the library and choose the first set of books to loan. Charlie was chosen as the ribbon cutting ceremony was his idea!
Each child from Reception to Year 6 was given their new library cards and loaned a brand new book. They were also given a chocolate heart to commemorate the fact that our library has opened on Valentines day.
Thank you so much to Miss Parker for all her hard work in getting the library up and running. We are hoping to establish a system after Easter where pupils can take their library books home. Pupils and parents will be able to loan and reserve books at home as well as adding book reviews!
