Primary Schools are now required to publish alongside their Performance information a list of their childcare provision making it easier for parents to know what is available.
Thornley Primary School offers the following continuous childcare provision.
Please note: All continuous provision must be booked and paid for before attendance. Please contact the school office for more information.
Before school provision
We offer excellent before school childcare provision in the form of our popular breakfast club. Priced at only £2.00, pupils can access the breakfast club from 8am and are then supervised until they are taken to classes to begin the school day at 8.55am. Mrs Hewitson, breakfast club leader (alongside school support staff), ensures that her breakfast clubbers never go hungry and provides a range of breakfast foods on a daily basis including: juice, milk, toast, cereals, yoghurt and fruit. There are also games and activities provided for pupils to keep them entertained post breakfast! Please contact the school office for more details. Children from aged 3 can access this provision.
After school provision
In addition to extra curricular clubs which run throughout the year aimed at different year groups in different areas such as sport, art, computing or writing, we also offer our Tea Time Club from Monday to Friday 3.30pm until 5:00pm. Activities at the Tea Time Club change daily. Mrs Laidler and Mrs Swales try to include a mix of activities including, but not limited to, movies, arts and crafts and computing. Pupils are also provided with a snack. The cost for this provision is £2 and details about payment and pre-booking can be found by contacting the school office.
